Fenland Viewsheds

This project invites participants to capture the timeless beauty of the Fens by photographing the countryside from the fen margins, looking across the vast, open landscapes towards the villages and their horizons. The aim is to create a visual archive of these unique perspectives, highlighting the silhouettes of churches and other features that echo the medieval views once familiar to those who shaped these lands. By engaging the community, we hope to celebrate the historic and natural heritage of the Fens, preserving these vistas for future generations to appreciate their enduring charm and cultural significance.

Anyone can take part using any camera, whether it’s a smartphone, a DSLR, or even a drone, to capture their unique perspective of the Fens. The collected images will be combined to create a collaborative vista, showcasing a patchwork of views from the fen edge and offering a modern reflection of this historic landscape.
